AgriProtein announces US joint venture

California, 16 November 2020

It is with great pride that AgriProtein announces Bioko! A joint venture between PreZero US and AgriProtein.

PreZero is an innovative, global recycler at the forefront of developing circular economy solutions – the German based company has over 90 locations spread across nine different countries. The two companies have come together to form an operating entity for nutrient recycling processes in the United States. Bioko’s mission is to use the power of nature to fully integrate food waste into the circular economy.

PreZero will be sourcing recovered food waste for Bioko facilities to process into animal feed and soil nutrient products via black soldier fly technology. AgriProtein is a pioneer in the insect technology industry and is responsible for the build out of Bioko facilities and day-to-day operations.

Jason Drew, AgriProtein co-founder and Chief Executive Officer said: “This is an exciting step forward for Bioko and the insect industry as a whole. We are looking forward to bringing nutrient recycling to Riverside County and to helping California reach its forward-thinking organic waste landfill diversion targets.”

As part of the launch, Bioko will be digitally exhibiting at the 2020 EPA Innovation Fair taking place today, Monday November 16th from 1PM-5PM EST.  Register for free here to learn more about Bioko’s innovative solutions!
